About the role

The Tucson Unified School District is seeking a dedicated Middle School Computer Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Valencia Middle School. The role involves creating an inclusive learning environment, delivering engaging computer science instruction, and supporting student achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards for computer science.
• Teach and assess middle‑school students, monitoring progress and providing feedback.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to plan interdisciplinary instruction.
• Maintain classroom management and promote a respectful, diverse learning atmosphere.
• Participate in professional development and continuous learning activities.

Required profile

• Valid Arizona teaching certificate with a Computer Science approved area (Elementary, Secondary, Middle Grades, or Subject Matter Expert 6‑12).
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proof of measles and rubella immunity or MMR vaccination before start date.
• Commitment to equity, with experience engaging African American and Latino students preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish endorsement preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of computer science concepts appropriate for middle‑school learners.
