Platform Engineer - AI Operations

About the role

Signicat, a pan-European digital identity company, is hiring a Platform Engineer focused on AI Operations to join its DevTools team within the Platform Tribe. You will design, build and manage the internal AI Background Agents Platform, which lets product developers build, test and deploy their own autonomous agents. You will also take part in daily DevTools work, including developer experience initiatives, shared infrastructure and developer tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build self-service APIs, services and CLI tools for the internal AI Background Agents Platform
• Build secure, stateful runtime harnesses that host autonomous agents, handle their lifecycles, execution sandboxing and tool/API invocations
• Design CI/CD pipelines and GitOps engines supporting canary and blue-green deployments of the platform and the agents
• Implement security guardrails against execution-level vulnerabilities and prompt injections
• Build centralized distributed tracing and monitoring for agent decisions, LLM calls and iteration loops
• Maintain shared developer infrastructure, build CLI utilities and resolve developer experience bottlenecks
• Mentor colleagues on platform-level solution design

Required profile

• Experience designing, building and deploying scalable services and platform APIs
• Proven track record of clean API contracts and systems consumed mainly by other developers
• Understanding of LLM-backed systems (memory management, tool calling, frameworks such as Google ADK, LangChain)
• Interest in reproducible developer workflows (Nix, devenv) and sandboxing (gVisor, WebAssembly, isolated Docker)
• Experience with enterprise observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, Datadog)

Required skills

• Python and Go for back-end services and developer tooling
• Kubernetes and containerized workloads
• GitOps, continuous delivery and progressive deployment strategies
• Testable code, backward-compatible interfaces and technical documentation
