Retail Associate – 10h Shift

About the role

Columbia Sportswear Company is hiring a retail associate for its ECI Preciados store in Madrid. With more than 430 retail stores worldwide, associates act as brand ambassadors, answering customer questions, making product recommendations and helping the store leadership team deliver a memorable customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about product features, benefits and availability, and by understanding customers' needs and preferences.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness and safety, and retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room or other inventory locations.
• Process all cash register transactions (sales, returns, exchanges, loyalty programme sign-ups) accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing and processing incoming and outgoing product flow.

Required profile

• No specific education required; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years or less of experience in a position or specialization.
• Aged 16 or older.
• Ability to move around in an active, sometimes physically demanding environment, including lifting items up to 40 lbs, and occasional exposure to dust and noise.
• Clear communication with others and a flexible schedule, which may vary seasonally and according to local business trends.

Required skills

• Operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Using other retail software tools.

Expected pay is €1,217.41 for full-time positions; new hires are usually paid the hiring rate of the specific store, and prior experience is taken into account.
