RTO Consultant

About the role

AVEVA is seeking an experienced RTO Consultant to join its Global Optimization team in Madrid. The role involves delivering real‑time optimization solutions for refinery and petrochemical operations, working closely with customers to ensure successful implementation and ongoing support.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Real Time Optimization (RTO) applications in refinery and petrochemical units using AVEVA Process Optimization software.
• Maintain and support the installed base of RTO applications.
• Serve as the technical interface with customers, defining and agreeing project requirements.
• Ensure engineered solutions meet functional, quality, and documentation standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project execution.
• Monitor project scope, manage change control, and identify risks and opportunities.
• Review process flow diagrams and P&IDs, perform database updates, and execute complex calculations for data analysis.
• Collaborate with other AVEVA project areas as needed.

Required profile

• Chemical Process or Control Engineer with 10+ years of experience in refinery and/or petrochemical optimization.
• Expert user of rigorous refinery process simulation packages or advanced control systems.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• AVEO Process Optimization (APO) software.
• PI Asset Framework and PI Vision.
• Programming in TCL, Python, Excel VBA, and SQL.
• Power BI Services.
