Security Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Security Manager to own the security strategy, operations and governance for a fast‑growing global technology organization operating in the fintech space. Based in Spain and working remotely, you will shape the cybersecurity roadmap, lead a team of security professionals and ensure that security controls scale with business growth while supporting innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute short‑ and long‑term security strategy, including technology, processes and capabilities.
• Lead and develop a security operations team responsible for monitoring, incident response and threat intelligence.
• Own the security governance framework – policies, standards, controls and maturity improvements.
• Partner with engineering to implement application, infrastructure, cloud and endpoint security practices.
• Build and enhance security monitoring, detection, response and incident management capabilities.
• Manage third‑party security risks through vendor assessments and ongoing risk management.
• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to meet regulatory expectations.
• Promote security awareness through training initiatives.
• Establish metrics and reporting to communicate security performance to leadership.
• Act as a strategic advisor, balancing strong protection with seamless user experiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading security teams in technology or high‑growth environments.
• Broad expertise across security operations, cloud security, application security, infrastructure security and GRC.
• Experience designing incident response processes, security monitoring programs and threat intelligence capabilities.
• Strong technical understanding of securing cloud environments, particularly AWS, and modern workplace endpoints.
• Experience creating practical, scalable security policies, standards and controls.
• Demonstrated ability to work with risk, compliance and regulatory stakeholders.
