Senior Aerodynamics Engineer

About the role

An opportunity for a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer is available within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Madrid. You will join the Aerodynamics Team, responsible for the development and optimisation of aircraft aerodynamics in a multidisciplinary Flight Physics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design external shapes of air vehicles and deliver optimised aerodynamic solutions, performance data, handling qualities and load models on time, cost and quality.
• Develop and maintain technologies, methods, tools and expertise across the Aerodynamics discipline throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
• Advance the application of numerical and experimental aerodynamic prediction tools and acquire innovative aerodynamic technologies aligned with company strategy.
• Collaborate with external research communities and related Flight Physics disciplines such as structures, loads, stability & control, and mass properties.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in aerodynamic design and characterisation.
• Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Strong background in meshing, CFD, CAD and generating aerodynamic databases from experimental and simulation data.
