Senior Controller – Consumer Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a hands‑on Senior Controller to lead the accounting portfolio for its consumer‑industry clients. The role combines technical accounting expertise, people leadership, and strategic partnership to ensure accurate, timely reporting for high‑growth companies.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle and drive month‑end and quarter‑end close processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Design and implement AI‑driven automation initiatives to streamline workflows.
• Serve as the primary accounting contact for consumer‑industry clients, building relationships and presenting financial results.
• Oversee accounting operations across the consumer portfolio, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on controller or senior accounting leadership roles.
• Deep knowledge of the consumer industry (CPG, retail, or related sectors).
• Proven track record of implementing accounting automations or AI‑based process improvements.
• Strong client‑facing and communication abilities.
• CPA preferred; ERP proficiency required.
