Senior IT Engineer - Middleware & Integration

About the role

Gategroup is looking for a motivated person to join its team of engineers who design, build, operate and continuously improve enterprise integration services. The role covers reliable data and process exchanges between business applications, platforms and external partners, ensuring secure, performant and resilient interfaces across multiple domains, while supporting both project delivery and run activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design integration solutions and implement APIs, messaging and batch interfaces using standard patterns
• Define and maintain interface contracts, schemas and versioning rules, and build data mappings with validation and error handling
• Configure secure connectivity and authentication, and develop CI/CD pipelines for integration components
• Monitor services, troubleshoot incidents, manage changes and deployments, and maintain runbooks and documentation
• Ensure observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) and apply security controls such as encryption, secrets handling and certificate lifecycle management
• Support capacity planning, resilience and disaster recovery, and share reusable templates and standards with the global team

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years in enterprise middleware/integration engineering delivering APIs, messaging/event-driven and batch/file-based integrations
• Strong production experience with incident, problem, change and release work under high availability expectations
• Hands-on experience designing integrations across multiple application domains
• English; additional languages are a plus
