Senior Simulator Project Manager / Lead Engineer

About the role

An opportunity for a Senior Simulator Project Manager / Lead Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The role joins the A400M Simulator Program Management team, overseeing the full lifecycle of simulator projects from sales to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end simulator project management, driving projects through sales, design, validation, customer acceptance and final delivery.
• Integrate and analyse programme data, managing time, cost, resources and quality metrics, including planning, scheduling and WBS.
• Manage stakeholders and contractual changes, overseeing relationships with aircraft manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
• Make high‑level technical decisions on simulator architecture and sub‑components.
• Execute risk and opportunity management, milestone tracking, phase reviews and performance reporting.
• Travel regularly (approximately once a month) for business trips.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of project‑management experience in the simulator industry or complex aerospace programmes (10 + years preferred).
• Advanced English (minimum C1) for international contract management.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
