Site Manager – Seed Production

About the role

Enza Zaden is establishing a new seed production site in El Albujón (Cartagena) and seeks a results‑oriented Site Manager to lead the operation. You will shape the launch of the facility, build a high‑performing team and ensure the delivery of high‑quality seed in line with global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of seed production, from cultivation planning to harvest and post‑harvest handling.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of agronomists, team leads and crop workers, including permanent and seasonal staff.
• Develop and execute multi‑year strategic plans for cultivation, capacity expansion, budgeting and process optimisation.
• Maintain required certifications and quality standards, ensuring compliance with Enza Zaden’s protocols.
• Drive continuous improvement of operational processes and promote health, safety and sustainability at the site.
• Collaborate with Global Crop Production Managers, Production Specialists, Quality Assurance and external suppliers.

Required profile

• Higher education (HBO/University) level.
• Minimum 5 years experience in seed cultivation.
• At least 8 years experience managing operational teams, preferably in greenhouse vegetable production.
• Proven track record of building and managing a production site.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning and budgeting capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
