Travel Counselor - 24/7 Dedicated Team

About the role

Amex GBT is hiring a Travel Counselor to join its highly skilled remote team, which provides service to corporate business clients. The role sits within a 24/7 Traveler Care operation and involves advising and arranging travel for corporate customers, both individuals and groups.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers, both individuals and groups
• Analyze and research travel options and proactively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services
• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel (air, road, rail and accommodations) of varying complexity
• Use Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) such as Sabre, Apollo, Galileo and Amadeus; training may be provided
• Ensure compliance with customers' travel policies, service provider policies and regulatory requirements
• Use positive telephone service techniques and respond to special customer requests
• Coach, mentor and give constructive feedback to teammates to improve service levels
• Support a dedicated client account through rotating shifts across 24/7 operations

Required profile

• Passion for excellence in client service, including anticipating needs proactively
• Professional communication in English, written and spoken
• Strong understanding of the travel industry (background in business travel, leisure travel or airline reservations)
• Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and independently, with or without supplier support
• Teamwork, openness to feedback and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work morning, afternoon and night shifts and weekends

Required skills

• Native Amadeus GDS expertise
• Knowledge of GDSs such as Sabre, Apollo, Galileo and Amadeus
