XPLORER 2027 Comms Systems Connectivity Analysis Internship

About the role

Join Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Spain for a six‑month curricular practicum that forms part of your final‑year project. You will work part‑time (5 hours per day) on a real‑world connectivity analysis challenge.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a link‑budget simulation tool to evaluate connectivity for line‑of‑sight and satellite datalinks on various airborne platforms.
• Create a human‑machine interface and integrate ITU link‑budget recommendations for multiple communication scenarios.
• Incorporate map‑based coverage and multipath analysis, and validate the tool with defined test cases.

Required profile

• Final‑year student in aeronautical/aerospace, industrial, electronic or telecommunications engineering.
• Proficiency in English (minimum B2, C1 desirable); additional languages such as Spanish, French or German are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and teamwork abilities, with a motivated and curious attitude.

Required skills

• Matlab programming.
• Python programming.
