Accountant - Hospitality

About the role

The Hoxton Poblenou, an 11th Hoxton hotel in Barcelona with 240 bedrooms, a restaurant, rooftop pool and events space, is looking for an Accountant to join its Finance function. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will help manage the day-to-day operations of Accounting. The contract is fixed-term (fijo discontinuo).

Key responsibilities

• Comply with applicable laws on fraud and collection procedures.
• Generate accurate and timely reports and presentations, and submit them on time.
• Analyse information and evaluate results to solve problems.
• Balance credit card ledgers and verify group contracts, performing credit reference checks for directly billed groups when needed.
• Ensure profits and losses are documented accurately and complete period-end closing procedures and reports.
• Support the supervisor in maintaining strong accounting and operational controls to safeguard assets.
• Achieve and exceed performance, budget and team goals, and plan and prioritise your work.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems and processes, kept up to date.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Attention to detail and a collaborative, low-drama attitude.

Required skills

• Excel, at intermediate to advanced level.
