Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

Sommet Education, a global hospitality and culinary arts education group, is looking for an Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant to join its finance hub in Marbella, Spain. The role supports student payment processing and daily cash‑receipt activities, ensuring accurate financial records and timely month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Process and allocate student payments, including electronic funds transfers.
• Post and deposit all cash receipts on a daily basis.
• Assist the Finance Department with month‑end close and account reconciliations.
• Monitor and respond to common email inboxes related to AR queries.
• Provide support to financial aid, recruitment and registration teams as needed.
• Maintain end‑of‑day procedures and ensure accurate posting of transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably with an accounting focus.
• Minimum two years of AR experience, ideally in a university or education setting.
• Fluent in Spanish, English and French.
• Self‑starter with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Word.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
