Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist (French / German Speaker)

About the role

Sulzer is looking for an Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist fluent in French and/or German to join its GF_Finance & Controlling, Accounting team in Madrid, Spain. The role helps take the Accounts Receivable area to the next level, covering collections follow-up, dispute resolution, credit risk assessment and credit limit definition.

Key responsibilities

• Reduce AR overdue amounts in the legal entities under your responsibility.
• Follow up collections for assigned customer accounts by phone and email, in line with contract conditions.
• Identify and resolve payment disputes with relevant stakeholders.
• Define collection strategies with the CoE Team Leader, following the Sulzer Collection Guideline and prioritising contacts.
• Track overdue results, support KPI calculations and keep AR files accurate.
• Take part in meetings with legal entity stakeholders, propose corrective actions and escalate AR issues when needed.
• Help migrate new customers and legal entities to the Madrid CoE scope and support standardisation of AR collection processes across the group.
• Act as a subject-matter expert, share best practices and recommend improvements.
• Analyse customer credit risk using external tools, define credit limits according to internal policy and monitor credit exposure.
• Work with Sales and local finance stakeholders on the credit management process.

Required profile

• Fluency in English is mandatory; German, French, Italian or another European language is an advantage.
• Good understanding of OTC processes; some experience in cash collections or accounts receivable in a financial shared services organisation is a plus.
• Results-oriented, with strong written and oral communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and escalate issues when necessary.

Required skills

• SAP and FSCM (Collection and Disputes) experience is a plus.
