AI Automation & Prototyping Intern (Spain / Eastern Europe)

About the role

Crisalix is looking for a hands-on, technically capable intern to build practical AI applications, prototypes and automated workflows that improve internal business processes. The role is based in Barcelona, Spain, or another location in Spain or Eastern Europe; remote work is available only for candidates in those countries. It lasts 3 to 6 months (6 months strongly preferred) and is paid with a monthly stipend depending on location. The company may convert a successful intern to a full-time role.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in internal discussions to understand business problems and find improvement opportunities.
• Build rapid prototypes using AI tools, programming and automation platforms.
• Develop internal applications, AI assistants and automated workflows.
• Connect tools and business systems via APIs and integrations.
• Review, debug and improve code, including AI-generated code.
• Test solutions, gather feedback and ensure applications are well structured, documented and maintainable.
• Prepare prototypes ready for handover to developers for further development.

Required profile

• Already comfortable with modern AI tools and automation platforms; not an internship to learn AI from scratch.
• Practical, technically curious and able to build working applications.
• Enough programming knowledge to understand, troubleshoot and improve code, including AI-generated code.
• Practical experience building AI-powered applications, automations or workflows.
• Good understanding of at least one programming language.
• Strong spoken and written English and the ability to work independently.
• Availability for at least 3 months, ideally 6 months.

Required skills

• Modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot and OpenAI APIs / GPT agents.
• Prompt engineering and structured AI workflows.
• Automation platforms such as Zapier, Make, n8n, Airtable Automations, Pipedream, Retool, Bubble and Flowise.
• Basic-to-intermediate programming, preferably Python and/or JavaScript.
• APIs, webhooks and integrations; low-code or no-code environments.
• Git, version control or collaborative development (a plus).
