Aircraft Static Loads Engineer - Flight Physics (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid) is looking for an Aircraft Static Loads Engineer within its Flight Physics team, working on military derivatives. The position is open to candidates holding an official Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering on top of an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering, with excellent academic records, especially in flight physics.

Key responsibilities

• Build loads models for flight and ground loads.
• Manage 6DOF simulation codes for manoeuvre and gust conditions.
• Analyse loads for design, fatigue, 1g, failure cases and operational loads, including trade-offs for sensitivity studies.
• Generate nodal loads for FEM (NASTRAN).
• Clear flight and ground loads to obtain "Permits to Fly" for prototypes.
• Specify, track and analyse flight tests, adjusting load models after flights if needed.
• Maintain software and tools for loads calculation.
• Write certification documents and present to Airworthiness Authorities.
• Provide continuous airworthiness support, fleet analysis and support to aircraft preliminary design.

Required profile

• Official Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering and undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• Excellent academic record, particularly in flight mechanics, aircraft design, aeroelasticity, aerodynamics, structures, maths, programming, control systems and propulsion.
• Advanced level of English.
• Teamwork, analytical and decision-making skills, and enthusiasm for technical work.
