Airworthiness Assurance Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an Airworthiness Assurance Engineer based in the Getafe area. The role manages design organisation approvals (DOAs) and the design assurance system, keeping them compliant with airworthiness regulations and confident in the eyes of the authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, extend, manage, assure and maintain all design organisation approvals (DOAs) and privileges, including design organisation manuals and airworthiness procedural references, and demonstrate their adequacy to the Airworthiness Authorities.
• Ensure the design assurance system complies continuously with applicable airworthiness regulations through independent monitoring, maintaining the confidence of the authorities.
• Resolve DOA queries supporting certification issues and services DOA queries to ensure aircraft delivery and fleet availability.
• Integrate design suppliers and partners into the design assurance system and keep them compliant throughout the product life cycle.
• Manage the cascade of design organisation authority and signatories, and coordinate interfaces between DOAs and between DOA and production organisations.
• Support the implementation of SMS and ISMS, and lead the delivery of the right level of airworthiness expertise to the Design Organisation, including training programmes.
• Represent Airbus in airworthiness rulemaking and standardisation, gathering and sharing regulatory knowledge internally.

Required profile

• Aeronautical engineering degree or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of English.
• Professional experience level.
• Awareness of compliance risks and a commitment to integrity.
