Analyst, Real Estate Equity

About the role

Ares, a global alternative investment manager, is looking for an Analyst to join its European Real Estate Equity team in Madrid. The Analyst helps evaluate, execute and manage a wide range of equity investment opportunities, mainly in the Iberian market with exposure to other European geographies, and takes part in every stage of the investment process.

Key responsibilities

• Work on a small deal team to analyse and execute real estate equity investments
• Report to all levels, from Associate to Partners
• Carry out extensive financial modelling and prepare investment committee materials
• Develop and maintain research on geographic markets, property types and sectors
• Take part in deal screening, due diligence and the formulation of investment recommendations
• Monitor, report on and manage new and existing investments
• Interact with counterparties, lenders, investors, lawyers and other advisors
• Support the Asset Management team in value creation, performance monitoring, financing and refinancing, and exit execution

Required profile

• University degree with strong performance from a top undergraduate institution
• 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking, real estate private equity or real estate advisory focused on private equity
• Experience evaluating real estate equity investments and relevant transactional experience
• Fluency in Spanish and English
• Ability to handle projects with minimal training, manage several projects at once and adapt to a role of varying depth and breadth

• Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
• Market and comps analysis, site tours, and engagement with brokers and market experts
• Ability to use AI to support process efficiency and investment decisions
