Azure Platform Architecture Practice Lead

About the role

Avanade is looking for an Azure Platform People Lead for Iberia to own the operational people and capability agenda of the Azure Platform Practice. The role combines people leadership with credible Azure Platform and Generative AI knowledge, developing adaptable talent, strengthening capabilities, improving chargeability and preparing the practice to support profitable opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the people and capability agenda: workforce planning, skills assessment, learning, certifications, career development, succession, engagement, retention and future leaders.
• Translate market and client demand into build, hire, borrow and deploy actions, closing skill gaps through upskilling, cross-skilling, recruitment and internal mobility.
• Own practice-level chargeability and utilization, matching people to demand and managing availability and staffing risks.
• Partner with sales, solutioning and delivery teams to share capability readiness, staffing assumptions, reusable assets, delivery constraints and technical risks.
• Promote Generative AI across the practice, improving engineering productivity, platform operations, solution design, knowledge reuse and client outcomes.
• Build an inclusive practice community across Iberia, strengthen collaboration with Microsoft, Accenture and global communities, and track outcomes such as certifications, engagement, retention and staffing predictability.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading people, capabilities or technical communities in consulting or professional services, with accountability for workforce planning, talent development, staffing, utilization and chargeability.
• Proven ability to build high-performing, inclusive teams through coaching, career development, succession planning and retention.
• Experience partnering with sales, solutioning and delivery teams to turn demand forecasts into capability plans.
• Strategic, business-aware mindset with strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work across Iberia in a matrixed organization.

Required skills

• Broad knowledge of Azure Platform, cloud engineering, governance, security, automation, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and cloud modernization.
• Practical knowledge of Generative AI, AI-assisted engineering and agentic solutions.
