Business Controller - UK & ES

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY SPAIN, S.A.U. is looking for a Business Controller for its Power Consulting business covering the UK and Spain. This is a highly visible international role in finance, offering exposure to financial planning, reporting, governance and business partnering across two countries. It is a full-time position based in Madrid.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted finance business partner for the Power Consulting teams in the UK and Spain.
• Support strategic decision making through financial analysis and business insights.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and long-term business plans.
• Monitor business performance and identify risks, opportunities and improvement actions.
• Deliver accurate monthly reporting, financial analysis and performance reviews.
• Drive financial governance, compliance and internal controls.
• Support audits, risk management activities and balance sheet reviews.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, standardization and data quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in controlling, financial analysis, accounting or business finance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and to work in international teams.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
