Buyer – Manufacturing Materials

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company, a global medical technology company, is hiring a Buyer for its San Agustin Plant. The Buyer conducts the purchase of all materials needed for manufacturing, including tools, machinery, supplies and raw materials.

Key responsibilities

• Contact suppliers for quotations, compare costs, negotiate discounts and clarify technical aspects and delivery terms for uncategorized goods.
• Prepare and follow up purchase orders and forward updated specifications to suppliers.
• Purchase raw materials according to SAP material requisitions, scheduling supplies to keep inventories low without stopping production.
• Stay in close contact with SNP planners so that planning changes and raw material shortages are noticed early.
• Keep the SAP system up to date with supplier data for machinery, tools and raw materials.
• Organize and control shipments of equipment and spare parts to be repaired and their return to the plant.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering on purchase specifications related to quality and environmental matters.
• Take part in supplier evaluations and audits, and control CB2 expenditures.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience as a Buyer, preferably in industrial environments.
• Planning experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in English.

The stated salary range is EUR 35,000 - EUR 38,000.
