Category Buyer, General Services (HR Services)

About the role

Amadeus is looking for a Category Buyer, General Services, to join its Global Purchasing team in Madrid. The role manages end-to-end purchasing for Human Resources services, including recruitment, training, HR consultancy, relocation, employee benefits and allowances, payroll services and other people-related services. It works closely with HR stakeholders, Regional Buyers, Legal and Finance, and also supports sourcing in other indirect services categories.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting for HR and indirect services, from need identification and market analysis to negotiation, contract signing, implementation and savings reporting
• Run RFx activities, supplier evaluations and fact-based negotiations aligned with business needs and procurement policy
• Implement contracts with Regional Buyers and coordinate with Legal and data privacy teams during negotiation and contracting
• Ensure contract compliance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Support other indirect services categories and cross-category sourcing initiatives with Category Managers and Regional Buyers
• Build relationships with internal IT stakeholders, engage internal customers and help them define needs and explore alternative suppliers
• Organize sessions with internal customers to identify further opportunities, follow up satisfaction and implement action plans
• Support the Cluster Lead in defining the sourcing roadmap, run market and supplier analyses, and perform market intelligence to find new vendors and benchmark pricing

Required profile

• Around 5 years of experience in indirect procurement, preferably in services categories, ideally with HR-related services such as recruitment, training, payroll, relocation or employee benefits in an international or matrix organization
• Good knowledge of strategic sourcing, contracting models, negotiation principles and contract lifecycle management
• Ability to influence stakeholders, challenge requirements and propose strategic alternatives
• Proactive mindset, strong business understanding and ability to anticipate needs
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus

Required skills

• Experience with procurement tools such as Coupa and contract management platforms
• Virtual collaboration tools such as SharePoint are desirable
• Analytical and project-management skills, able to handle multiple initiatives at once
