About the role
Roche is hiring a Cloud DevOps Infrastructure Engineer (SE7 level) in Madrid. You will solve complex business problems with innovative DevOps solutions across the infrastructure landscape, make critical technical decisions with considerable independence, influence technology strategy, mentor teams and align with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Set technical direction for platforms and services from design through deployment, operation and retirement, building large-scale infrastructure with self-service tools and APIs for developers
- Design complex CI/CD pipelines, self-healing features and disaster recovery plans
- Lead maintenance of live services by defining metrics for availability, latency and system health, and set SLIs, SLOs and SLAs
- Plan capacity, performance and scalability, and own availability, tuning, efficiency, change and configuration management and emergency response
- Work with developers, managed services suppliers and vendors to improve delivery velocity and service reliability, and turn customer needs into requirements
- Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards, run audits and remediation plans, and manage ITSM processes
- Collaborate with and mentor geo-distributed teams across multiple product lines
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent IT experience (networking, infrastructure, database)
- Certification on Azure or equivalent working knowledge of Azure
- Experience leading complex audit exercises, managing ITSM processes and leading disaster recovery plans
- Ability to research, learn and share knowledge, and to act as a senior analyst

- Automation, Python, Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Logging, monitoring and observability (Grafana, Datadog)
- Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) and CI/CD pipelines
- Source code management (GitLab, BitBucket, GitHub)
- Defining SLOs and SLIs
