Senior Manager, Antibot Engineering
NielsenIQ · Madrid
Job description
About the role
NielsenIQ Digital Shelf is looking for a Senior Manager, Antibot Engineering, based in Spain and reporting to the Director of Antibot Engineering. The role leads a distributed team in Western Europe and Algeria and balances retailer unblocking with long-term R&D. It is a senior people-leadership position with three core accountabilities: building and developing the engineering team, prioritizing retailer work, and driving an R&D roadmap.
Key responsibilities
- Translate the Director's strategy into team objectives, priorities, roadmaps and execution plans, and balance retailer unblocking with R&D projects.
- Run a transparent prioritization process that turns business requirements, customer impact, operational risk and technical dependencies into an executable retailer backlog.
- Work with business, product, delivery and operations stakeholders to resolve priority conflicts and deliver prioritized work with clear ownership and measurable outcomes.
- Lead, coach and develop engineering managers, technical leads and engineers, own workforce and capability planning (hiring, onboarding, succession, development), and set operating rhythms for planning, reviews, risk management and communication.
- Own the R&D roadmap for the assigned scope, identify opportunities to improve capability, automation, scalability, maintainability and resilience, and turn experiments into investment recommendations and production adoption plans.
Required profile
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, web data acquisition, applied R&D or a related field.
- 3+ years of people-management experience leading experienced engineers, technical leads, managers or multiple teams.
- Demonstrated accountability for engineering delivery and production services in a complex, high-change environment.
- Ability to lead across countries and cultures and to influence teams outside the direct reporting line.
- Professional fluency in English.
Required skills
- Experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, automation, observability, incident management and engineering quality practices.
- Preferred: web scraping, reverse engineering or large-scale data collection; leading distributed teams in Europe and/or North Africa; knowledge of antibot solutions, CDN or WAF; experience driving operating-model change or engineering transformation.
What we offer
- Flexible working environment.
- Volunteer time off.
- LinkedIn Learning.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
