Collections Specialist

About the role

JBT Marel, a global leader in food and beverage technology and automated systems, is hiring a Collections Specialist to handle collections activities for its North American entities. The position is based in San Fernando de Henares, Madrid, with possible travel within the EU or USA.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers on delinquent accounts and send dunning letters, using a collection tool, email and phone calls to recover overdue amounts
• Follow up on overdue balances and report progress to Business Units and management in Europe and the US
• Lead AR meetings with Finance and Sales teams and support second-level customer issue resolution
• Analyze credit and collections services, helping review, evaluate and improve them under a service level agreement framework
• Generate and review AR aging reports, monitor accounts for delays and irregularities, and reconcile AR balances and customer statements
• Investigate payment discrepancies and short-pays, resolve customer queries and commit to continuous improvement of collections processes
• Assist in ad-hoc collections projects and report to JBT SSC management on operations reviews and KPIs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of experience in collections/accounts receivable (a must)
• Understanding of collections processes and best practices
• Strong PC skills, data accuracy, ability to work with minimal supervision and excellent customer service
• English and Spanish written and verbal communication are essential; another European language is an advantage
• Shared service center experience is valued; ability to meet strict deadlines and strong analytical skills
