Controller – Modernizing Finance with Data

About the role

Continental Tires is looking for a Controller to join its controlling team at a sales business based in Spain and Portugal, reporting to the Controlling Manager for Iberia. The team still relies heavily on semi-manual work and wants to modernise it with data-driven approaches. You will learn the finance side while taking on real controlling work.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and carry out real controlling work such as month-end close, reconciliations, budgeting and variance analysis, closely with the team.
• Identify repetitive manual tasks and start automating them with quick, visible wins.
• Build and maintain Power BI reporting so the same outputs are not rebuilt by hand each month.
• Work with the company's automation team to scope automation opportunities.
• Document your work and share it with the team so it lasts beyond you.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical or Management Engineering, Business Administration or Information Systems, or another quantitative and technical field; accounting or pure software/CS backgrounds are not sought.
• 0-4 years of experience; prior finance exposure is not required, but a track record of solving quantitative problems and building or automating something is.
• Fluent Spanish and/or Portuguese, plus working English.
• A fast, structured way of thinking and a mindset that prefers fixing the root cause of repeated tasks.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Comfort with, or fast aptitude for, Power BI, SQL and/or Python.
• Nice to have: exposure to RPA tools such as UiPath or Power Automate, and SQL or Python beyond the basics.
