Combat Ground Support Equipment Engineer

About the role

A new position for a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Engineer has opened within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid area). GSE is an engineering department responsible for identifying, designing, developing and validating aircraft ground support equipment, and providing technical support to customers on its daily use at air bases. The post sits in the Services Organization (TAS), specifically TASSE6 (Ground Support Equipment), and focuses mainly on the Eurofighter programme, while also covering other combat programmes such as SIRTAP, Eurodrone and FCAS.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare GSE technical specifications
• Provide technical support to supplier selection
• Follow up design and prototype manufacturing
• Validate equipment on the aircraft and run qualification and compatibility tests
• Prepare GSE recommendations for customers and carry out site surveys of their existing capabilities
• Provide technical assistance to customers and support installation and commissioning at customer air bases
• Analyse aircraft modifications and their impact on developed GSEs

Required profile

• Fluent English and Spanish (spoken and written)
• Strong teamwork, good verbal and communication skills, flexibility and creativity
• Willingness to work in different environments, travel and in multinational teams
