Communication Systems Product Manager - Combat Aircraft

About the role

A position as Communication Systems Product Manager for Combat Aircraft has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Madrid. The holder leads the overall design, development and qualification/certification of the communications system (hardware and software) to meet customer and regulatory requirements as well as programme cost and schedule needs. The role covers the full lifecycle, from the offer phase to product delivery and clearance for flight.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the development, qualification and certification of the combat aircraft communications system, covering the audio management system, radios and tactical and mission datalinks including SATCOM.
• Take technical decisions needed for efficient development and testing, on-time delivery and customer acceptance.
• Lead the multifunctional teams and liaise with the Chief Engineering Office, the Program Office and the Customer.
• Handle technical aspects of engineering deliverables, schedule, cost, quality and risk management up to final customer acceptance.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in aeronautics, telecommunications or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in an engineering-related field.
• Background in technical team management and project management.
• English and Spanish at negotiation level.
• Availability to travel.
