Data Engineering Architect

About the role

Evinova, a healthtech leader, is looking for a Data Engineering Architect to shape its platform-wide data foundation so that its products, data science and agents can deliver leading capabilities. This is an in-office role in Barcelona with a minimum of three days per week on site; remote or travel flexibility is not available. The role sits among the most senior data architects and engineers in the data foundation team, is hands-on and involves guiding and mentoring the team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimize cloud-based data in the lakehouse, catalogue, pipelines and operational frameworks
• Build and maintain streaming pipelines, dimensional models and data quality validation
• Implement governance and security controls such as column-level and row-level access
• Mentor and lead junior and mid-level engineers, and promote automation and best practices
• Partner with product management and security teams to align data strategy with business goals

Required profile

• 10+ years in data engineering and data pattern roles, with significant SaaS and multi-tenant platform experience
• Proven track record of mentoring team members
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders

• AWS services: Lake Formation, Glue, Athena, EMR/Redshift Serverless, S3 Tables, Iceberg or Delta Lake, Kinesis Data Streams or MSK, CDK (TypeScript) or CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Terraform
• Python or Spark (PySpark or Spark Scala); TypeScript and Bash
• Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch
• IAM, KMS, encryption standards and NIST compliance
