Data Scientist

About the role

Experian is looking for a Data Scientist to join its growing EMAP Data Science team in Madrid. The role designs, develops and delivers data science solutions that turn data into actionable insights and scalable solutions for clients, combining programming, data engineering, statistical modelling, machine learning and Generative AI. It is a hybrid remote/in-office position.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and acquire new data assets, and analyze and document large datasets
• Develop new product prototypes and design analytical solutions for internal and external clients
• Provide sales support and consultancy, and build prototypes that support data-driven decision making
• Apply machine learning, data mining and text mining techniques to extract value from data
• Validate model and score performance, and document and present modeling processes and outcomes
• Lead programs to improve client analytical solutions, data quality, model performance and project timelines
• Create materials for knowledge sharing, share expertise, mentor project teams and advocate for analytics through publications and presentations

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience defining scope and delivering customized analytics projects
• Expertise in advanced algorithms to solve practical business problems
• Ability to make independent decisions and resolve uncertainty in complex scenarios

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python
• Knowledge of data structures and their use in marketing, risk and customer management
• Familiarity with regression models, XGBoost, neural networks, SVM and ensemble methods
