Desktop Support Technician (Air Force)

About the role

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey, providing program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare and recreation support. This role provides Tier I/II technical support in a U.S. Air Force enterprise environment, keeping mission systems and end-user devices running while following Air Force and DoD cybersecurity, asset accountability and configuration management requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for desktops, laptops, thin clients, printers, eTools and mobile devices across Air Force networks (NIPRNet)
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues
• Install, configure and maintain Windows-based systems and approved applications
• Image and deploy systems using tools such as MECM/SCCM
• Maintain IT asset accountability and track assets with systems such as AFEMS or ITAMS
• Handle receipt, tagging, issuance, transfer and disposal of equipment, and run inventory audits
• Coordinate repairs, warranties and refresh cycles, and ensure data sanitization per NIST 800-88
• Document and track maintenance actions with remedy

Required profile

• Secret clearance (or ability to obtain it)
• Windows enterprise support experience
• Knowledge of asset management processes
• Preferred: 3 years of desktop support experience in a USAF environment and CompTIA Security+ certification

Required skills

• CompTIA A+ CE or higher (preferred: Security+ CE)
• Windows enterprise support
• MECM/SCCM imaging and deployment
