Director of Search Engine Marketing

About the role

Preply is looking for a senior leader to own and evolve its global Search Engine Marketing (SEM) channel. The Director of SEM will define strategy, drive performance, and shape the future of search acquisition across multiple markets, leveraging AI and automation at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own Preply’s global SEM strategy across Google Search, Performance Max and emerging AI‑powered ad formats.
• Lead a team of SEM specialists, setting direction, building capability and establishing clear accountability.
• Drive channel KPIs while maintaining or improving ROI, overseeing keyword architecture, bidding, and budget allocation.
• Partner with Data Science, MarTech, Brand and Google teams to develop LTV‑based bidding and automation pipelines.
• Shape the AI vision for the SEM team, integrating AI tools into workflow and campaign management.

Required profile

• Director‑level experience in SEM or performance marketing with a multi‑million‑dollar budget.
• Proven track record of operating at scale in a high‑growth consumer tech or marketplace environment.
• Experience working across multi‑language, multi‑market campaigns.
• Ability to lead through influence and earn credibility within existing teams.
