Experienced AI Engineer

About the role

Drees & Sommer is looking for an experienced AI Engineer in Málaga. You will play a key role in developing, deploying and continuously improving AI solutions, working closely with the AI Lab team and stakeholders across the full AI application lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation and operation. The solutions serve internal teams and external customers in the construction and real estate industry.

Key responsibilities

• Document, transfer knowledge and support the adoption and scaling of successful AI solutions
• Design, develop and deploy AI solutions from prototype to production with the AI Lab team
• Develop and integrate AI components such as RAG pipelines, agents, tools, skills and MCP connections
• Maintain front-end and back-end components and support the operation of AI solutions on cloud and on-premise platforms
• Gather requirements with internal and external stakeholders and deliver AI-enabled solutions
• Contribute to the AI platform, solution architecture and engineering best practices
• Evaluate, test and implement new models, frameworks and technologies for the construction and real estate domain

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or a comparable field
• Professional experience in software engineering focused on cloud, backend or frontend technologies
• Practical AI engineering experience through work, internships, research or personal projects (e.g. RAG systems, agent architectures, LLM integration, prompt/context engineering, fine-tuning)
• Understanding of AI components such as retrieval, orchestration, tool usage and evaluation
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative environment
• High English level (C1)
