Field Service Engineer - Analytical Instruments

About the role

Anton Paar Spain is looking for a Field Service Engineer to deliver on-site technical service for Anton Paar analytical instruments across its characterization product lines, including microwave extraction and synthesis systems, rheometers and material characterization and processing instruments. The role covers installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repair and customer training, with extensive travel across Spain (about 60% overnight).

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and application support to customers by telephone, email and remote assistance.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair instruments at customer sites, and perform preventive maintenance and calibrations, including ISO 17025 calibrations where required.
• Diagnose instrument malfunctions, prepare repair quotations and technical recommendations.
• Train customers on correct operation, maintenance and best practices.
• Document all service activities, support tickets and service orders in the CRM Service system.
• Maintain a personal spare parts inventory and company equipment.
• Identify upgrade, replacement, service contract and preventive maintenance opportunities and share them with the Sales and Service teams.
• Take part in technical and product training and comply with quality, safety and service standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or another relevant technical discipline, or equivalent qualification and experience.
• 2-3 years of experience installing, troubleshooting, maintaining or repairing analytical, laboratory or scientific electromechanical instrumentation.
• Valid driver's license and passport.
• Intermediate English (spoken and written).

Required skills

• Strong understanding of electronics, mechanics, electromechanical systems, instrumentation and technical troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities; proactive, organized and solution-oriented.
