Finance Budget Partner

About the role

ING is looking for a Finance Budget Partner in Madrid to support the bank's growth and diversification, helping achieve commercial and financial targets while moving towards the overall strategy T2D. You will be the key representative of the Finance department in a cross-functional team with colleagues from business, operations and IT, contributing to expense control and partnering with all stakeholders. The role sits in a small team of 6 FTE in the Management Accounting area of the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor budgets and capacity throughout the year, and forecast performance and costs
• Improve understanding of your domain to drive proactive budget setting and cost optimisation
• Turn analyses and business performance into clear presentations and strategy papers for the Executive Committee
• Lead process and controls improvement, including automation initiatives and documentation of controls
• Keep an eye on the market through research and competition monitoring
• Understand and simplify processes, and drive efficiency at bank-wide and team level

Required profile

• Master's or bachelor's degree (preferably in mathematics or engineering)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable role
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset and strategic, creative thinking
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Good interpersonal skills, autonomy, international mindset and results orientation

Required skills

• Full proficiency in Excel (Power Query), SAS and SQL
