Finance Intern

About the role

Exoticca is an online travel agency focused on long-distance dream trips, and its Finance Team manages balance sheets, financial statements, cash-flow reports, daily record keeping and reporting, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable. It is looking for a motivated, organized Finance Intern to gain hands-on experience in finance and accounting while supporting the company in its fast growth.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately allocate and reconcile incoming bank transfers, checking amounts, dates and reference numbers against bank statements and resolving discrepancies with the relevant departments.
• Monitor the timely issuance of invoices and credit notes to customers, investigate billing discrepancies and ensure compliance with governmental rules.
• Reconcile customer collections and post invoices and credit notes correctly, reconciling monthly outstanding debt with clients.
• Work directly with sales and service team members.
• Assist with the month-end close by providing journal entries, reviewing and investigating anomalies.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field, having completed at least half of the credits.
• Eligible for a university internship agreement (convenio de prácticas).
• Analytical, detail-oriented and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Fluent Spanish and at least intermediate English (B2).
