Flight Test Operations Specialist

About the role

The Flight Test Operations Specialist will ensure safe and efficient flight test activities at Airbus Helicopters' Albacete site. This role combines flight‑operations management, emergency coordination, and support for test‑flight crews.

Key responsibilities

• Manage flight operations including flight planning, monitoring, take‑off/landing coordination, and METAR/NOTAM analysis.
• Coordinate ground services, fire‑brigade subcontractors, and emergency trials.
• Oversee tactical and crypto communications (HF, VHF, UHF, Crypto) and maintain the airband network.
• Administer aviation fuel contracts, quality‑control checks, fueling/de‑fueling operations, and SAP fuel movements.
• Maintain ground support equipment (GPU, towing bars) and aircrew equipment serviceability.
• Ensure platform readiness through FOD inspections, access‑gate control, and surface maintenance.
• Support test‑flight activities such as hook‑and‑hoist, hot‑spot targets, and external airport crew assistance.
• Perform general administration: documentation updates, purchase‑order management, and incident registration.

Required profile

• Professional experience in aviation or flight‑test operations.
• Strong awareness of compliance risks and commitment to integrity.
• Ability to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• HF/VHF/UHF radio communications and Crypto communication systems.
• Airband communications network management.
• Fuel quality‑control procedures and aviation fuel administration.
• SAP for fuel movements and purchase‑order processing.
• Operation and basic maintenance of ground support equipment.
