Flights Business Specialist

About the role

Exoticca, an online travel agency focused on long-distance dream trips, is looking for a Flights Business Specialist in Barcelona. The role bridges the Functional Product Department and Flight Business, ensuring the flight product within Exoticca's packages is correctly set up, optimized and delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the needs of the Functional Product Department and Flight Business and communicate them to the Technical/IT Product Manager and development teams.
• Ensure the flight product component of Exoticca packages is correctly configured and optimized to deliver the best available flights at the lowest possible cost of goods sold.
• Make sure requirements are understood by all stakeholders and that the Flight Business implementation roadmap matches them.
• Research market and distribution technology trends, turn them into practice and support innovative ideas.
• Identify, evaluate and resolve technical risks.
• Coordinate product testing, define success criteria and final acceptance.
• Use database queries to analyze and monitor product performance.
• Help create and maintain product documentation and coordinate with internal departments during product releases.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience working with a GDS (Amadeus, or a large global OTA with Amadeus and Travelfusion).
• Experience with low-cost airline aggregation and NDC.
• Understanding of web development and experience defining and managing a functional product lifecycle.
• Ability to manage timelines, scope and product scalability, with strong project management skills and backlog prioritization.
• Experience writing functional technical product specifications and requirements for new products.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate data and determine business value and ROI.
• Excellent written and spoken English; a second language is a plus.
