FP&A Controller (German Speaker)

About the role

Sulzer is looking for an FP&A Controller fluent in German to join its Finance & Controlling team in the Madrid Center of Excellence. You will support several business entities across the DACH region as a trusted finance partner, providing financial analysis that drives business performance and strategic decisions. The role suits someone who enjoys an international environment and collaboration with stakeholders across countries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning for assigned entities
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial results, identifying variances, risks and opportunities
• Support management reporting with analysis and recommendations
• Drive profitability analysis and business performance monitoring
• Partner with Finance Business Partners and operational stakeholders on strategic decisions
• Analyse operating expenses, headcount, working capital and other KPIs
• Support month-end and year-end closing, and participate in CAPEX planning and investment analysis
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls and Sulzer financial policies
• Improve reporting, dashboards and planning tools through automation and standardisation
• Collaborate with global and regional finance teams and contribute to continuous improvement in the Madrid center

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, Controlling or similar finance roles
• Fluency in German and English is mandatory; additional European languages are a plus
• Experience in an international or shared services environment is a plus
• Proactive, collaborative mindset, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Tagetik, Qlik Sense, Power BI or ERP reporting tools is an advantage
