Fraud Optimization Specialist

About the role

seQura, a Barcelona-based fintech offering payment technologies for merchants and consumers, is looking for a Fraud Optimization Specialist to strengthen its detection systems. You will analyse fraud patterns, enhance controls, guide new product launches and work with Product, Data and Operations to design scalable, tech-enabled solutions. The role sits at the intersection of analytics, risk strategy and cross-functional execution.

Key responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to reduce fraud losses across streams and improve profitability, using advanced risk rules and machine learning scores.
• Assess fraud risks for new features, launches and markets, advise Product and Operations, find control gaps and define remediation plans.
• Develop and maintain executive dashboards (Metabase/Tableau) tracking fraud performance and financial exposure, and give concise insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Support and implement end-to-end fraud prevention strategies: design controls, run rollouts, measure impact and iterate.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Data Science to propose preventive controls and turn complex risk scenarios into scalable, tech-driven solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with fraud detection technologies in fintech, payments, BNPL or e-commerce, from rule creation to performance optimisation.
• Proven track record of fraud risk assessments, gap remediation and fraud prevention strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to influence cross-functional stakeholders across product, operations and compliance.
• Candidates are asked to submit their CV in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL.
• Data visualisation and dashboard building (Metabase, Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Ability to automate monitoring and interpret large data sets.
