About the role

Julius Baer is looking for a Frontend Engineer in Madrid to design, develop and test software modules, ensuring optimal functionality and integration within complex systems. The role combines deep technical expertise with close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Work in cross-functional teams using agile methodologies in a DevOps-centric environment
• Design, implement, deploy, release and monitor frontend applications, and take part in pull request reviews
• Translate business requirements into frontend solutions by working closely with stakeholders across Julius Baer's divisions
• Take part in planning and feature refinement sessions
• Work with Solution Architects so that frontend solutions fit the overall architecture vision
• Contribute to the Software Engineering communities and share expertise with peers
• Deliver high-quality, maintainable and scalable code following Julius Baer's guidelines and standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Fluent English and strong communication skills
• Proven frontend engineering experience focused on React, JavaScript and TypeScript
• Understanding of frontend architectures, responsive design and performance optimization
• Experience with TDD, BDD and automated testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD
• Agreeableness to adopt new technologies and support the company's digital transformation
