Future Projects Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Future Projects Engineer to join the Future Projects Platform Systems team in Getafe, Madrid. You will work on technical studies at system level for future projects, derivative concepts, and commercial campaigns across multiple programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure interface and integration of engineering activities to support Airbus product policy.
• Lead and support analysis of competitor products at aircraft, vehicle, and component levels.
• Define top‑level technical objectives and requirements up to MG3 for new or incremental programmes.
• Manage design and integration activities up to MG2 for new programmes.
• Perform trade‑off analyses to select optimal vehicle and system architectures.
• Explore technical, manufacturing, and operational aspects of innovative configurations and assess value‑cost benefits.
• Define component design targets and monitor their achievement with Centres of Competence.
• Prioritise and conduct research projects to adapt and develop technologies for enhanced vehicle design.
• Develop knowledge and propose directions on environmental aspects.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of engineering experience, preferably in systems engineering.
• Aeronautical engineering degree (preferred).
• Good knowledge of platform systems.
• Strong English language proficiency.
• Ability to work with uncertainty, flexibility, and limited information.
• Pro‑active team player with problem‑solving attitude.
