Test Engineer – High Voltage Electrical Systems

About the role

Airbus UpNext Spain is building a state‑of‑the‑art test facility to validate high‑voltage electrical systems for future low‑emission aircraft. As a Test Engineer you will join a fast‑paced, agile team and be responsible for the complete verification and validation lifecycle of the demonstrator project.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the end‑to‑end test campaign, from Laboratory Test Requests to detailed Test Instructions, execution, data analysis, reporting and problem‑report management.
• Execute complex test scenarios, including functional tests, electrical failure‑mode tests (short‑circuits, arc‑flashes) and altitude emulation up to 55 000 ft, making real‑time decisions to protect equipment and specimens.
• Configure and calibrate sensor acquisition chains (current/voltage transformers, Rogowski coils, oscilloscopes, high‑speed cameras, temperature sensors) and verify signal integrity before each test.
• Perform deferred‑time data export, analysis and exploitation to generate actionable insights for future aircraft designs.

Required profile

• Hands‑on engineering mindset with a strong focus on safety and technical rigor.
• Ability to make immediate, high‑impact decisions during live high‑risk electrical tests.
• Excellent documentation skills and experience managing problem reports through resolution.

Required skills

• NI Veristand for test‑control and automation.
• Experience configuring current/voltage transformers and Rogowski coils.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, high‑speed cameras and temperature sensors.
• Strong data‑analysis capabilities for post‑test exploitation.
