FY27 Engineering Intern – Hardware, Software & Systems

About the role

Analog Devices offers full-time paid placement opportunities to 10+ students each year, working with teams of engineers on challenging product-development projects. Placement students are enrolled in their final degree (BSc or Masters) and are hired mainly from Electronics, Software and Computer Science, though other disciplines are also considered. The internship is treated as an extended interview, with mentors guiding students toward full-time roles after graduation. Co-op positions are recruited from after September 2026, and longer internships of more than 6 months are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Firmware and software development
• Code qualification
• Basic analog or digital design and verification
• Development of demo and instrumentation boards
• Metrology and lab measurements
• Documentation and benchmarking

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a degree (BSc or Masters)
• Strong problem-solving skills with analytical thinking
• Ability to debug issues systematically, analysing logs and isolating root causes
• Clear, concise documentation of work

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI tools
• Valuable: practical embedded software experience
• Valuable: digital design basics (FSMs, timing, pipelining) and analog design basics
• Valuable: lab equipment operation, computer architecture and microcontrollers, hardware/software troubleshooting
• Valuable: scripting to automate tasks and Python-based test frameworks
