General Legal Counsel Spain

About the role

Unilever is seeking a General Legal Counsel for its Spain operations. The role provides strategic legal leadership and trusted partnership across all business units, ensuring compliance, risk management, and support for commercial, marketing, R&D, supply chain, corporate, litigation, and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal advisor for Unilever Spain, covering commercial, marketing, sales, distribution, supply chain, corporate, litigation, and compliance matters.
• Partner with business leaders to deliver pragmatic legal advice and risk assessments aligned with business objectives.
• Advise Marketing and R&D teams on product claims, advertising, and promotional activities, coordinating with Regulatory Affairs.
• Collaborate with specialist teams on data privacy, competition law, business integrity, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead legal review and negotiation of strategic agreements with customers, suppliers, and external partners.
• Manage competitive challenges related to product claims and advertising campaigns.
• Coordinate and oversee litigation matters with internal experts and external counsel.
• Develop and deliver legal training and awareness programs on competition law and commercial risk management.
• Contribute strategic legal input as a member of the Spain Leadership Team.
