About the role

We are looking for a Head of Infants on a maternity‑cover basis to lead the Infants department at our International School in Madrid. The role involves overseeing departmental performance, developing policies, and supporting staff while upholding the school’s commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and an inclusive culture. The school places children’s success, safety and health at the heart of its mission and expects all staff to follow safeguarding and health‑and‑safety procedures. We also value diversity, equity, inclusion and continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities

Lead the Infants department and ensure high standards of performance.
Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
Monitor and report on departmental performance.
Provide guidance and support to departmental staff.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align departmental goals with organisational objectives.

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
5+ years of experience in departmental management.
Proven track record of successful departmental leadership.
