Secondary Teacher (Medical cover)

About the role

We are seeking a Secondary Teacher (Medical cover) to deliver lessons, support student wellbeing, and collaborate closely with the Psychology Department at our St. George Madrid campus. The role involves planning, assessment, classroom management, and participation in school-wide activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan lessons in advance, share plans via email with the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator.
• Prepare and organize class materials and maintain an up‑to‑date grade book.
• Design monthly assessments, grade work, and record attendance.
• Supervise playground duties and keep the classroom environment engaging.
• Collaborate with the Psychology Department to support students with academic, behavioral, or special‑needs issues.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, parent conferences, and school events.
• Act as a mediator for student conflicts and refer emotional or family concerns to the psychologist.
• Organise community service projects, fundraising activities, and student participation in fairs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and encourage involvement in school committees.
• Perform other duties related to the position as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in secondary education.
• Advanced English proficiency (fluent speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to safeguarding, diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in digital tools.
• Intermediate‑level Microsoft Office skills.
