Secondary Teacher – Maternity Cover

About the role

We are seeking a qualified secondary teacher to cover a maternity leave at our international school in Madrid. The successful candidate will deliver curriculum, support student wellbeing, and work closely with the academic and psychology teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and email lesson plans to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator.
• Prepare and organise class materials and maintain a decorated learning environment.
• Enter grades promptly and design monthly assessments for each topic.
• Supervise playground duties and record daily attendance.
• Collaborate with the Psychology Department to support students with academic, behavioral, or special‑needs issues.
• Participate in meetings, parent conferences, workshops and school activities.
• Communicate with parents and encourage their involvement in school events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum two years of teaching experience.
• Advanced proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Commitment to safeguarding, diversity and inclusion principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital tools, including intermediate‑level Microsoft Office.
