Head of Production Quality – Space Systems

About the role

An opportunity for a Head of Production Quality in the Space Systems plant in Getafe has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space. The role leads the Production Quality Department and drives continuous improvement across multiple high‑complexity production areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~25 covering Quality Assurance, Inspection and Conformity, setting objectives aligned with corporate goals.
• Sit on the plant management committee and act as the primary focal point for Production Quality across internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage an annual budget of €3.5 M and prepare the Sales & Operations Planning and quality KPIs.
• Oversee quality activities across eight production areas, including composites, machining, laser metrology, satellite integration and testing, and launcher assembly.
• Promote a preventive quality culture, ensuring implementation of processes such as Non‑Conformance Management, Root‑Cause Analysis, and product certification.
• Direct the Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) team and support internal and external audits (e.g., EN 9100).

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in team management and prior experience within a Quality department or close collaboration with Quality teams.
• Strong leadership, communication and change‑management skills.
• Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
